Freedom From the Spirit of Lucifer

Isaiah 14:12-15 nlt “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. 13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. 14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’ 15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths.

• The Bible warns and encourages us in our battle with God’s archenemy,

Ephesians 6:11 kjv “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,”.

NLT Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

2 Corinthians 2:11 nlt so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.

In Job 1:6-12, we can find some additional information on Lucifer.

Job 1:6-12 nlt One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the LORD, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. 7 “Where have you come from?” the LORD asked Satan.

Satan answered the LORD, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

8 Then the LORD asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” 9 Satan replied to the LORD, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. 10 You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! 11 But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!” 12 “All right, you may test him,” the LORD said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the LORD’s presence.

// First, although Lucifer lost his position in the kingdom of God, He did not lose his access to God.

Lucifer is an offended spirit • We overcome by being quick to forgive and continue in that forgiveness until Jesus comes.
Lucifer is a critical spirit
• We overcome by cultivating a positive attitude that strives to encourage, lift up and elevate with our words.

Lucifer is a complaining spirit
• We overcome by cultivating a positive attitude of thankfulness that produces within us the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Lucifer is a fault finding spirit
• We overcome by looking for the good in others, things, situations, etc…

Lucifer is a stubborn spirit
• We overcome by allowing ourselves to be flexible and bending, and stretching, allowing someone else to get their way, allowing someone else to be right and allowing ourselves to be okay with it.

Lucifer is a grudge holding and unforgiving spirit
. We overcome by forgiving everyone and everything that has hurt or wounded us in any way.

// Secondly, Lucifer is often found in the company of the people of God.

The reason for this is, he is busy trying to steal God’s praise.

As the saints begin to praise and worship God, God’s presence begins to manifest.

And in God’s presence is joy, peace, love and the power of God to overcome every challenge life brings to us! THE FRUIT IS IN THE ROOT!!

• When we train ourselves to put God first in every area of our lives, we overcome the spirit of Lucifer!

• When we train ourselves to praise and worship God just because He’s God and we love Him, we overcome the spirit of Lucifer!

• It is impossible to remain offended, critical, complaining, fault finding, stubborn and unforgiving when we are filled with a Spirit of Thankfulness, Praise and Worship!

• God is calling us into the secret place of His presence!

• God is calling us to get alone with Him and worship Him, praise Him worship Him, put Him first!

To overcome the spirit of Lucifer we must train ourselves to put God first and above everyone else and everything else in our lives!

God has a life of great victory already prepared for us!
