The Vision of The House
Habakkuk 2:2-3 KJV And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Mark 12:28-34 NIV The Greatest Commandment - One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Vision of This House: LOVE. LEAD. CONNECT.

• You will spend the rest of your life fulfilling these two commands to love God and others.

Loving God

  1. The vehicle for maximum pursuit of loving God is SOLITUDE.
  2. Jesus modeled the importance of solitude throughout His ministry.
  3. Solitude has many benefits.

o You have to face YOURSELF. o You have to face your past, present, and future. o You have to learn how to be still.  Psalms 46:10 NLT “Be still, and know that I am God!”

Loving Others

  1. The vehicle for maximum impact in loving others is RELATIONSHIP
  2. The opposite of relational is TRANSACTIONAL
  3. Every encounter is either relational or transactional.

o Was I warm and kind? o Was I patient and attentive? o Was it about me or them?

Action Steps:

  1. Take time this week to build in time for solitude. What time and place gives you the best possibility of spending time in solitude with Jesus?

  2. Be mindful this week of how you interact with people. Is it relational or transactional?
